November 2, 2018 - The Cochranton High School boys’ track and field team are regional champions who will soon be competing for the state championship in Hershey. The team, coached by Mark Roche, toured the Capitol and the State Museum during their trip to central Pennsylvania.
October 17, 2018 - It was an honor to show our local librarians, who were here to support continued state funding, the Capitol’s Senate Library. Marcia Wilking and Sheryl Thomas of Erie carried the message that “Libraries Carry PA Forward.”
October 15, 2018 - Sen. Brooks joined Sen. Scott Hutchinson and Sen. Elder Vogel in welcoming to the state Senate the Sons of the American Revolution, who are celebrating their 125th anniversary this year.
October 2, 2018 – Sen. Michele Brooks and Sen. Pat Browne were gratified to witness the ceremonial signing of Senate Bill 1056, now Act 72 of 2018, which will help generate jobs through the state’s fair treatment of depreciation for those job-creators paying corporate net income tax. With this passage, Pennsylvania is no longer the only state in the nation to treat depreciation in such a negative way. Supporters from the fields of accounting and small business also joined the signing.
September 13, 2018 - Poppies are a sign of the bloodshed in Flanders Field in World War I. This inspiring poppy display was unveiled at the Shenango VFW Post 1338 by Michaelene McCartney, to remind all Americans that these brave soldiers from every conflict have not died in vain.

June 25, 2018 –Roy (Trey) Wilt III met Gov. Tom Wolf after he himself was elected “governor” of Keystone Boys State, a one-of-a-kind leadership development program offered by the PA American Legion. Trey is the grandson of ex-State Sen. Roy Wilt and nephew of ex-State Rep. Rod Wilt.
June 22, 2018 –Sen. Michele Brooks joined Majority Leader Jake Corman and her colleagues as Sen. Corman explained the priorities funded in the new, no-tax-hike 2018-2019 budget, which included added funding for school safety, agriculture, critical access hospitals, Lyme disease and other pressing needs.
June 12, 2018 - Madelyn Dragosavac, Finley Rauscher, Brock Cunningham, Hailee Rodgers, and Bradyn Field are the Cambridge Springs Middle School students who won first place in the middle school category for the statewide Heroin and Opioid Video Contest. The team, with the help of adviser Angela Mumford, crafted a video that urged students to engage in positive activities instead of turning to drugs, and to make their own health and future a priority.
June 12, 2018 - A marvelous group of supporters accompanied Brock Cunningham, Madelyn Dragosavac, Bradyn Field, Finley Rauscher and Hailee Rodgers of Cambridge Springs Middle School as they were honored on the Senate floor for their first place win in the Senate Heroin and Opioid Video Contest, sponsored by the Drug and Alcohol Service Providers of PA.

Brooks was honored to present a formal Senate citation to his wife Jessie and his family for their work with the PA Environmental Coordinator Program, 4-H, dairy promotion, the Crawford County Fair and so many other valuable local endeavors.

February 1, 2018 - Thiel College President, Dr. Susan Traverso, joined Sen. Brooks in honoring recipients of the Louis and Barbara Thiel Distinguished Service Award at the college’s Founders Day celebration. Among the honorees presented with a state Senate citation were Tom Roberts, Executive Director of the Hope Center for Arts and Technology in Sharon, and Michael P. Walton, CEO and co-owner of Jamestown Coating Technologies in Jamestown, and Jamestown Powder Coatings in Girard, who also serves as board president of the Hope Center.
January 29, 2018 – International archery champion Calvin Smock of Fredonia, joined by his wife Janet, 17-year-old Allison Smartsport of Hickory High School, and Bill Whitman, were introduced by Sen. Brooks to the full Senate and honored for their many archery awards. Smock has attracted a worldwide following since his international team win in France recently.
Jan. 20, 2018—Sen. Brooks presented flowers and a Senate citation to Rosemarie Palmiero at Wesbury Retirement Community in Meadville as Mrs. Palmiero celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends.
