HARRISBURG — Sen. Michele Brooks (R-50) announced the release of state funding for several important investments in Lawrence County, including supporting law enforcement, local governments, and identifying strategies to strengthen economic development, job growth, and additional housing opportunities throughout the county.
“These investments will help Lawrence County communities make important improvements that directly benefit residents,” said Brooks. “From upgrading the Dance Hall at Cascade Park to supporting our local police and helping communities plan for future growth, this funding will give our municipalities the resources needed to strengthen services and build a stronger future for the region.”
The Dance Hall at Cascade Park in New Castle will receive $100,000 for renovations, including new restrooms, and heating and cooling equipment.
“The project will improve the functionality and usability of the Dance Hall at Cascade Park through the installation of a new HVAC system,” said Mayor Mark Elisco. “The facility currently lacks heating and cooling capabilities, and the project will help ensure the space can be used more comfortably and efficiently throughout the year.”
Other approved projects include:
- Washington Township — $60,000 to purchase equipment.
- New Castle City Police — $40,00 for equipment and building renovations.
- New Castle City — $35,000 to identify additional strategies for housing and business expansion.
