MEADVILLE – Sen. Michele Brooks (R-50) invites seniors and caregivers to a Senior Expo on Thursday, Sept. 19, at the Vernon Central Hose Company, 16589 McMath Ave., Meadville, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The expo will give residents the opportunity to learn about resources and programs provided by state government, as well as local nonprofit and community groups in the area. They will also offer flu shots and prize drawings provided by vendors.
Seniors will have the opportunity to have a bone density test and retinal screening free of charge.
“Oftentimes, seniors aren’t aware of the many government services that are designed to help them, and this expo provides a great opportunity to discover those resources,” Brooks said. “They will be able to talk with vendors, as well as visit with friends and neighbors over light refreshments.”
The Veterans of the Vietnam War Post 52 will be accepting snacks and personal care items for the troops.
“I look forward to seeing everyone again this year,” Brooks said.
