NEW CASTLE – Sen. Michele Brooks (R-50) and Rep. Marla Brown (R-9) invite seniors and caregivers to a Senior Expo on Thursday, Sept. 12, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Cascade Park Dance Hall, 1928 E. Washington St., New Castle.
“I’m honored that I am able to help local seniors by gathering so many helpful resources in one place for them,” Brooks said. “There will be a great deal of useful information about important topics like fraud prevention, senior housing and senior health. I encourage everyone to attend so they can benefit.”
This expo gives residents the opportunity to learn about resources and programs provided by state government, as well as local nonprofit and community groups in the area. It will also offer prize drawings provided by vendors and refreshments.
“Our Senior Expo is a great informational event where older residents can come to one convenient place to learn more about various programs and services offered by local, state and federal governments as well as private agencies,” said Brown. “I am happy to team up with Sen. Brooks to help provide senior citizens with the appropriate information regarding eligibility or how a particular program operates.”
There will be free flu shots for veterans and seniors with a VA/Medicare ID card. Pneumonia and Tdap (tetanus and whooping cough booster) will also be available.
There is no need to RSVP for this event. For additional information, residents may call 724-654-1444. Guests are also invited to visit Brooks’ website at www.senatorbrooks.com and Brown’s website at www.repmarlabrown.com. Find Brooks on Facebook at Facebook.com/senatormichelebrooks.
