HARRISBURG – A $50,000 grant was awarded to French Creek Recreational Trails to rehabilitate the highly utilized Ernst Trail in Vernon Township from Beans Auto to Smock Bridge, according to Sen. Michele Brooks (R-50).
The project includes resurfacing the Ernst Trail with asphalt and installing rock filtration trenches.
“We live in a beautiful area that entices many people to enjoy the great outdoors,” Brooks said. “I am pleased to announce that the grant will improve the recreational opportunities available to families and tourists that the trail attracts.”
The grant was awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority under its Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program.
