Sen. Brooks Invites Seniors to Safe Driving Course April 3

HARRISBURG March 5, 2020 –Sen. Michele Brooks encourages citizens age 55 and older to sign up now for a four-hour refresher driver safety course as a follow-up every three years in order to keep an automobile insurance discount.  The course will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Friday, April 3, at the Edinboro Borough Building Boardroom, 124 Meadville Street, Edinboro. 

By completing the course and refreshing their driving skills, older Pennsylvanians are eligible to keep a five percent discount on their automobile insurance premiums for three years. 

The course was developed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) in conjunction with Pennsylvania-based insurance companies.

“I’d like to thank Edinboro officials, the AARP and Seniors for Safe Driving for helping to bring this course to our area, and I encourage everyone who is eligible to sign up,” Sen. Brooks said. “It can save you money on your car insurance, and help keep drivers of all ages safer on today’s busy roadways.”

The course costs $15 for AARP members, and $20 for non-members.
