Senator Michele Brooks was appointed by Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati to serve as Vice Chairman of the Agriculture & Rural Affairs Committee for the 2015-16 Legislative Session. Earlier this month, Senator Brooks was appointed to Chair the Senate Aging and Youth Committee.
“I am truly honored to serve as the vice chair of the committee that plays an important role in reviewing legislation and policies that affect our hard working farming families,” Senator Brooks said. “Agriculture remains Pennsylvania’s top industry and a key driver of northwestern Pennsylvania’s economy. It is so important that we protect our family owned farms and our agricultural heritage, and the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee is at the forefront of those efforts.”
Senator Scarnati also appointed Senator Brooks to serve as a member of the Local Government, and Rules and Executive Nominations and Urban Affairs and Housing committees.
“I am pleased to serve on these Committees,” Senator Brooks said. “The issues that come before these committees have a direct impact on families in the 50th District. I will keep that in mind when I review the bills that come up for consideration.”
