Senate Committees Plan Hearing on the State of Education, One Year Into COVID-19

HARRISBURG – The Senate Education Committee and the Senate Health and Human Services Committee will hold a joint public hearing on Wednesday, March 3 at 10 a.m. to explore the many challenges schools have been forced to confront during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Committee Chairs Senator Scott Martin (R-13) and Michele Brooks (R-50).

The committees will hear testimony from the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Pennsylvania Department of Health, superintendents, teachers, students, parents and other stakeholders discussing barriers to learning and safety concerns during the pandemic, as well as potential solutions to ensure the safety and continued educational development of students.

The hearing will feature virtual testimony from participants and will be streamed live at www.pasenategop.com.
