Sen. Brooks Announces $1.7 Million Grant for Farrell

(HARRISBURG) July 16, 2020—Sen. Michele Brooks is pleased to announce that the City of Farrell has just been awarded $1.7 million for improvements to local roadways.

The state support, awarded under PennDOT’s Multi-Modal program, will be used for Idaho Street, Spearman Avenue, and Darr Avenue, to include the repaving of roadways; preparing curb cuts for intersections to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); replacing damaged, broken sidewalks; and installing a public bike rack.

“Whether you are driving, walking or biking through Farrell, a smooth passageway is essential to safety, job growth, and convenient travel in and around Farrell,” Sen. Brooks said. “The Farrell community has always prided itself on its unity and interconnectedness, and this grant advances that mission of interconnectivity and community togetherness in a tangible way. I commend and thank the many state and local officials who came together to conceive of this plan for the city and secure these vital funds to bring the vision to fruition.”
