Brooks: Grants Awarded to Summit Township’s Gibson Park and Conneaut Lake Park

HARRISBURG (Nov. 14, 2019) Sen. Michele Brooks was pleased to partner with Crawford County communities in bringing home two major grants for Summit Township, through the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

These grants include the following:

  • $40,000, to rehabilitate Gibson Park in Summit Township, to include the construction of a comfort station; Americans with Disabilities (ADA) access; landscaping; project signage; and other related site improvements.
  • $112,300, to Trustees of Conneaut Lake Park, to rehabilitate Conneaut Lake Park in Summit Township, to include the construction of pavilions; ADA access; landscaping; project signage; and other related site improvements.

“These two investments will have a long-lasting impact upon our parks and those who enjoy the Great Outdoors,” Brooks said. “This is a positive step forward in working to help preserve and beautify our local parks and expand their usage and accessibility to people of all ages and abilities.”

Brooks applauded the work of local officials and park supporters in announcing the grant.
