Brooks Announces Grants for Community Parks and Pools

HARRISBURG (September 17, 2019) Sen. Michele Brooks is pleased to announce funding approval for three local projects, including $50,000 for Union City to develop plans for four public parks, including Caflisch, Devereaux, First Avenue, and Southwest Parks.

Another $100,000 has been awarded for enhancements and renovations at the George J. Barco Aquatic Center in Meadville. The project will include the building of locker rooms, showers and rest rooms that are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), along with the replacement of the roof and tile flooring.

Another $20,081 has been awarded to the Edinboro Legion Pool, Inc., to repair cracks and repaint the pool, which is the only public pool available to Edinboro Borough.

“It is a pleasure to partner with members of our local communities to enhance our resources,” Brooks said.  “These grants are investments in the future of our communities and will continue to add to the quality of life for families in our area, today and for future generations.”
