Brooks Announces Grant for Small Water and Sewer Project in Jamestown, Mercer County

HARRISBURG –(September 18, 2018) Sen. Michele Brooks announced that Jamestown in Mercer County will receive $140,000 for a new sewage pumping station, awarded under the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s (CFA) Small Water and Sewer Grant program.

The CFA approved this project and several other sewer and water projects for Mercer and Crawford County at its meeting today.

“Jamestown is planning to replace the Liberty Street Pumping Station, which was built over 50 years ago and exceeded its expected lifespan.  A new submersible pump station will help address the inflow and infiltration problems affecting the tributaries to the old pump station,” Brooks said.

“This funding will help ensure that local families and businesses will continue to have reliable sewer services, and prepare for future growth.”
