HARRISBURG (Sept. 18, 2018) French Creek Recreational Trails will receive $76,480 for an extension of the Ernst Trail in Vernon Township, Crawford County, Sen. Michele Brooks announced today.
The project, approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) at its meeting this morning, will extend Ernst Trail in the area of Bicentennial Park.
The trail will be stone and gravel and proceed from Bicentennial Park northeast to the Ainsworth Pet Nutrition Complex near the City of Meadville.
“The Ernst Trail has been a wonderful recreational addition to our communities. Hundreds of local families and tourists have utilized this beautiful trail, and this expansion will increase recreational opportunities for a pastime that is growing in popularity.”
“As our trail system expands, it provides easier and more walkable access to local businesses,” Brooks added. “I appreciate the opportunity to continue to work with the Economic Progress Alliance on this and other local Crawford County projects.”
