HARRISBURG – Senator Michele Brooks is working to resolve an issue affecting thousands of senior citizens who recently received letters from the Social Security Administration stating that their Medicare Part B State Buy-In has been terminated.
Sen. Brooks began working with Cong. Mike Kelly’s office and the state Department of Human Services (DHS) today, after Cong. Kelly reported that his office had received numerous calls from concerned Medicare recipients. They are working to determine why the letters were sent, and if they were sent in error. Mercer County residents are among those affected.
DHS officials said they are investigating the issue as a possible systems error.
