Brooks Tapped to Chair Senate Aging and Youth Committee in New Session

HARRISBURG – State Senator Michele Brooks has been re-appointed as the Chair of the Senate Aging and Youth Committee by Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati for the new 2017-18 session.

“I am excited and eager to continue to lead a committee devoted to our children, who are our future, and our seniors, who have always been there to counsel and care for us,” Sen. Brooks said.

“At a time when the needs of our baby boomers are growing and funding is limited, it is critical that the General Assembly taps into the resources available to provide the most accessible and reliable services possible,” Sen. Brooks said.  “With services to seniors provided at the federal, state and local levels, it is crucial that we maintain local communication and connections for these services, including those provided by our county Area Agencies on Aging.”

“The General Assembly has made these efforts a top priority in the past, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to continue developing policies that effectively safeguard and support our seniors and children.”
