Edinboro Office to Host VFW Representative

Beginning Wednesday, August 10, Shelly Messina, claims consultant with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at Senator Michele Brooks’ Edinboro District Office to assist veterans with benefit claims.

“My staff and I have an immense gratitude and appreciation for our veterans and their families and I am pleased to offer this service,” Senator Brooks said.  “Shelly will be able to help veterans and their families with a variety issues and answer questions about topics including crisis management, PTSD, compensation and pensions, housing and home loans, health care, and G.I. Bill education benefits.”

The VFW is the nation’s largest organization of combat veterans. The group’s mission is “to foster camaraderie among United States veterans of overseas conflicts.  To serve our veterans, the military and our communities.  To advocate on behalf of all veterans.”

“I encourage veterans and their families to stop by my Edinboro District Office at 99 Erie Street, Edinboro and talk with Shelly or call the office at (814) 734-2783 with their questions,” Senator Brooks said.
