State Senator Michele Brooks was appointed by Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati to Chair the Senate Aging and Youth Committee for the 2015-16 Legislative Session.
“Understanding that our children are our future and that our seniors have always been there to guide and watch over us, I am looking forward to taking on the role of chairing this committee. It is important that we utilize the resources available to provide the most accessible and reliable services possible. I think it is also very important that we maintain local communication and connections for these services, such as those provided for our seniors by Area Agencies on Aging,” Senator Brooks said. “The General Assembly has made those efforts a top priority in the past and I look forward to working with my colleagues to continue developing policies that effectively safeguard our seniors and children.”
